Traveling first or business class is expensive and the availability of upgrades is limited. Certainly our travel budgets have allowed for only coach travel and for most of us this means banged knees and no work room when the seat in front of us reclines.
Well as they say, "necessity is the mother of invention."
While I don't know if this solution is legal, it sure is enterprising.
